I got a dose of the glums for Easter

and they didn’t come wrapped in colourful tin foil.
Reasonlessly grumpy, irritably indecisive, my mind running on a hamster wheel, the hamster wheel of gloom.
This morning’s church service in our beautifully decorated church seemed to exacerbate things, making my hamster wheel spin dizzily.

What I wanted to do – sit in the garden and write, would throw up what needed to be done – cut the grass, sort out the shed. Which would make me think, should I do it? Should I pay someone to do it? Oh, for a wee man who can or could or would.
It’s Easter Sunday and it’s sunny.  Countrywide, families
are gathering, weekend offs have been arranged, routes planned, picnics packed.  I would like to join the throng, but I also wouldn’t.  If we went to any of our favourite spots today they will be busy, full of adults and children being happy and I don’t want to be around people.  Being bright and breezy is beyond me.  I have no energy to smile and be cheerful.  I just want to sit and write, or sew, or best yet sleep.
Mr B & I went out a quick stop off at Tescos for ice cream – the new Hagaan Daaz cone in a cardboard box because I thought it would be recyclable but contains plastic and foil finished paper wrapping.  Cone tasted nice though.  I couldn’t decide where I wanted to go to walk Rosie so she & I just did a short road walk past some fields of cows and sheep with new lambs.

But even the sight of the Daz white lambs didn’t lift my spirits.
So, we came home and, I went to bed for an hour.
The glums are staying in residence today.  Hopefully they’ll move out tomorrow.
